What this is
Love Future You is a quiet place to write a letter that waits. You type it, you seal it, and it stays closed for exactly one year. On the anniversary of that day, it opens. That’s the whole idea. No feed, no followers, no audience. Just you, a few honest words, and the version of you who will read them a year from now.
Why a year
A year is long enough for life to move. Jobs change, people arrive and leave, hard things pass, small hopes come true or quietly turn into different hopes. It’s also short enough that whoever wrote the letter is still you. That gap is where the magic lives. Reading what you hoped, feared or promised twelve months ago is one of the few ways to see how far you’ve come.
And knowing a letter is out there, sealed and waiting, gives the coming year a small light at the end of it.
What we’re for
Nobody seals a letter for next year without believing, somewhere, that it will come. On a hard night, that belief is a decision, written down, and from then on there is a date with something kind waiting on it.
Picture the morning it opens. Into an ordinary day arrives a year-old kindness in your own hand. You laugh at what you feared and find a wish you’d forgotten. Or it comes from a friend across an ocean, a grown child far away, someone who could not say it in the room. The letter carries what the conversation could not.
And people who expect a future build one. They plant, they save, they mend. Every sealed letter is someone who has decided tomorrow is worth building. Leave a little light for tomorrow.
Three ways to seal a letter
Solo, US$5. One letter, for your future self or someone you love. If it’s for someone else, they’re told today that a letter is waiting and the day it opens; not a word of it until then, by them or by us.
Sealed Pair, US$9 for both. Two people side by side, each writing their own. Neither can read the other’s, and both open the same day.
Exchange, at the pair price. A pair writes together, and on the open date each reads the other’s. A year-long secret, kept for each other.
Earth Hope
Past the seal, for anyone who has written to themselves or as a pair, is a small world we call the Lighthouse. There, if you choose, you can add a light showing only the country your letter came from. Never a name, never a city, never a word. It simply says: somewhere here, tonight, someone wrote to their future.
What we promise
Your words are yours. The letter is encrypted in your browser before it is sent. The key travels only in the private link emailed to you when you seal; the server handles it briefly for that email, any sharing you request and ownership checks, and never stores it beside the letter. Nobody can open a letter before its day, and we do not read it. A lost key cannot be recreated, so keep the email.
We take no position on what you write. The seal, the date and the delivery are our job.
We keep it simple. Typed, up to 1,000 characters, about the length of a real letter. No account is needed. You must be 18 or over.
It works wherever you are. 38 languages, 125 currencies, any script. Polar is the merchant of record.
Your privacy is real. Analytics are anonymous and cookie-free. Thirty days after a letter opens, its content and the address it went to are cleared.

Built by one person who believes a few kind words, sent forward in time, can change how someone feels about the year ahead. Independent, small on purpose, built to do one thing beautifully: keep your letter safe until the day it’s meant to be read.
