Before a deployment, most of the letters go to other people. This one is yours. Write down who you are the week you leave: what you're carrying, what you've promised, the ordinary things you already know you will miss with a violence that surprises you.
Opening is scheduled for one year after verified sealing, wherever that year finds you. In the same-room flow, two people write before one checkout and can agree to exchange letters on their opening date. The year starts only when payment is verified and both letters are written; either person can call the exchange off before opening.
